LOHUD COMEDY
...has recently been honored to present comedy legends and luminaries like: ROBERT KLEIN, COLIN QUINN, and GILBERT GOTTFRIED at venues as diverse as Piermont's landmark Turning Point Cafe and the White Plains Performing Arts Center.
LoHud Comedy was founded in 2010 to infuse the already-vibrant local arts scene with the Thalian spirit of mirth. For what, in difficult times, is more healing than a gathering of like-minded folk in the presence of jesters, storytellers, and fools for an evening of merrymaking, laughter, and drink?
LoHud Comedy is produced by local Rockland County resident, Adam Oliensis (Tony®, Drama Desk, & Clio Award nominee, & winner of the 2013 Paramount Theatre Stand-Up Star Search). We began by bringing world-class funny to the Lower Hudson Valley, and have since expanded into Westchester, Putnam County, Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, and New York City.
A long-time Rockland County resident, Adam has been working in comedy for longer than he cares to admit: as a comic, actor, writer, director, and producer; in Film, TV, Theatre, and Commercials.
In his stand-up, Adam explores the lessons in humility he’s learning from his wife and especially from his children, along with the adjustments that genuine adulthood is forcing upon him.
Having lived in East Africa, studied martial arts in India, and languished spiritually in New Jersey, Adam is attuned to the absurdities that arise in the everyday, mining both the ironies and silliness that exist in the most humbling situations (with which he continues to gain vast experience).

PAST SHOWS INCLUDE:
October 2, 2010: JESSICA KIRSON played to a packed house at The Turning Point. The show sold out and scores of disappointed patrons were turned away.
November 12th's , 8pm show, starring MIKE VECCHIONE, sold out more than a week ahead of time, and we had to add a 10:30pm show. That 2nd show ended up packed as well!
Our first foray into Westchester, with BERNADETTE PAULEY at the top of the bill was loved by all, as we branched out to the Westchester side of the Lower Hudson Valley!
We kicked off 2011 with another sellout on January 15, 2011 with TED ALEXANDRO headlining at The Turning Point. A standing-room-only crowd belly-laughed into the wee hours.
In February we returned to Westchester, headlining JOE MATARESE at Route 22 in Armonk, NY. DOUG ADLER topped the bill at The Turning Point in Piermont. Both shows were sellouts, and the audiences laughed their heads off!
March brought the comic genius of AL LUBEL (he’s been on Letterman 5 times and was on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) to The Turning Point in Piermont, and JANE CONDON (Audience Favorite on Last Coming Standing) to Route 22 in Armonk. The venues were packed, and audiences went nuts for both shows!
In April, Rockland County's own Pete Dominick (Satellite Serius Radio, CNN, The Daily Show) killed it for over an hour at The Turning Point to (you guessed it) a sold-out house.
May of '11 brought the incomparable PAT DIXON to The Turning Point andMARION GRODIN to Route 22 in Armonk. Both comics brought the funny and had our audiences laughing 'til they cried.
September 10, 2011: The Turning Point was way overbooked. Standing-room was sold out! The audience was primed and ready to laugh. CORY KAHANEYbrought it for almost an hour! and the featured acts killed as well. The audience went so nuts, that CORY was forced to do an encore!
November of 2011 was LoHud Comedy's busiest month yet. On the 5th ANDY PITZ headlined at The Turning Point; his observational humor had the audience in stitches for close to an hour. Then on the 12th JOEY GAY tore the place up at Rick's Club American in Congers. Finally, on the 19th, ROBIN FOX slayed 'em at JCC Rockland in West Nyack.
Beginning in 2012, LoHud Comedy's productions became too numerous to continue to track individually.
